“Remember me fondly and
know that I loved you.”
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grandmother. Mom was predeceased by her husband Robert and her siblings Roy, William Earle, Nelson (Bob) and Phyllis. She leaves behind siblings Helen, Jean, Dolores, Myrna and Stanley, her four children Robin (Joan), Lynda, Valerie (Jim), Roger (Louise) and her grandchildren Darnell, Curtis and Emily. During WWII mom worked at Bayer & Black and contributed to the war effort by sterilizing and packing bandages for our soldiers overseas. She married Robert on May 1, 1945. Although they faced many hardships and challenges over the next 52 years their marriage endured, a testament of their dedication to each other. Mom devoted herself to raising her family. Once that task was completed she returned to the work force, first to Coles Book Stores and then to Benefit Plan Administrators, where she worked for 20 years until she retired. Mom served as Vice-President on the Board of Directors of New Beginning Animal Shelter & Adoption for 24 years. She cared deeply for all animals and always helped and cared for them in whatever way she could.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Scarborough Chapel, 3280 Sheppard Ave. E., Scarborough, on November 15th, 2012. The family invites everyone to the reception in the chapel following the service. Interment is to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mom will be deeply missed and always loved beyond words by each and every one of us .
